Commitment To Rancho

We respect the horse-keeping character of the Burbank Rancho. Horses have the right of way, and safety is of utmost importance.

We plan to implement solutions that will preserve the safety of horses and their riders. We seek to achieve this goal with the following actions:

Low Density.

Project is substantially lower in density than what is allowed by Rancho code. Density standards in the Rancho are already the most restrictive of any district in Burbank.

Complete Streets and Bridle Path.

Executing the Mariposa Street Bridle Path Project. We will be widening and improving Mariposa Street, and constructing a new bridle path to enhance equestrian safety.

Bridge Access.

Dedicated to ensuring safe and priority passage to the Mariposa Equestrian Bridge, the main point of access to riding trails throughout Griffith Park.

Construction Management.

Implementing construction-related reduction measures to alleviate building impacts on horses and community members.

Responsible Transition.

Working with Circle K Stables and horse owners to preserve the safety and well-being of the horses during the transition period.

Embracing Community.

Open and sustained communication with Rancho community members to hear concerns and integrate new ideas.
